Monthly Beauty Faves

Since January's Beauty Post was so popular, I've decided to make it a monthly feature on my blog. I'm always on the lookout for new fun beauty products to try, be it hair, makeup, nail supplies, etc., and always trying out new things. Now this just gives me a perfectly good excuse to spend more money at Sephora!

Fresh is one of my favorite brands for a lot of things, including this yummy, super soft lip treatment. I guess the closest thing I could compare it to would be chapstick, but I feel like that's calling Filet Mignon dog food. I mean. This stuff is like butter on your lips, but not nearly as gross as that would be, and 1,000 times better smelling. There are 8 different scents/shades (Coral is my favorite, though I also got Rose and Clear in my Birchbox several months ago and loved both). Every single one (I've tried them all) is absolutely deliciously scrumptious, and most have just the right splash of color, or no color if you prefer. They have 15 SPF and moisturize like you wouldn't believe. A bit spendy, but they're much bigger than any normal chapstick. One is likely to last 6 months or more.

While we're on Fresh Products, their perfume is like heaven for my nose. The two I own are Brown Sugar and Lemon. I can't pick a favorite between the two.  They are very clean & fresh smelling, and not too overpowering at all. I'm very picky about perfumes. Very picky. Too strong of a scent gives me a headache. These are perfect. They have a handful of other scents, and I haven't found one I didn't like. Next time you're in Sephora (I'm not sure of anywhere else that sells the Fresh Brand) go to their Fresh section and just smell your heart out. You won't be sorry!

Since Liam was born, I haven't been putting on eyeshadow very often. Just a nice cat eye on a bare lid has been my go-to look, but when I do, this is one of the first palettes I reach for.  I have two of them--Taupe Temp is my favorite. The colors have just a tiny bit of shimmer, go on really smooth, and don't have much fallout at all. They're not super-duper pigmented, but the darker colors can definitely be used to add drama to your eyes, while the lighter colors are much more subtle. Since it's a drugstore brand, they aren't too expensive ($10 per palette) so you can't feel bad if you end up with a few in your collection.

If you have curly or wavy hair, Miss Jessie's hair products are amazing! I originally got Quick Curls in a Birchbox several months ago (LOVE) and just recently got Pillow Soft. I'd almost buy these products just for the smell! YUM! But they also help my curls look a bit more tamed & less frizzy. I feel like it really adds moisture to my dry curls and isn't sticky at all. Win Win!

I bought an illuminator from VS a while ago on clearance, but I can't find it on their website. I'm sure this one is just as good. Victoria's Secret makeup is not super expensive, which is nice! This stuff is only $15, and will last at least a year. I only put it under my eyes, on my cheekbones, and down the bridge of my nose for the perfect, subtle, sunkissed glow.

Just regular, good ole coconut oil, typically found in the cooking section. I use coconut oil on my hair almost every day. Just a tiny amount, smaller than a dime, does wonders. It gives my hair shine without making it appear greasy, and smooths flyaways. (If you have thin or fine hair, you probably would want to use even less. Seriously, start with just a little drop) Coconut oil can also be used as a hair treatment (A friend just suggested this to me today, and as I'm typing this my hair is saturated in coconut oil waiting to be washed out). Also does wonders on your cuticles and is great for dry skin!

  2. Sugar lemon perfume? Count me in! I really have to try this. Not that I need anymore perfume, but ya know.

I also love those eyeshadows, I think I have ever color combo that they make.

We would have a field day going through each other's makeup stash, I have a feeling.
